Default Edited posts show username

When you edit a post, the username of who edited it (normally the creater) shows.

Is it possible to hide the username as it sort of defeats the purpose of hiding the user who created the post in the first place.

Editing is done by yourself or admins, but via quote and reply your screenname is shown.
If TomV hides it, one could still find you via "member list" since "date joined" and "posts" are still visible. People might traceroute you up to your bedroom or proxy LOL

Crap, I knew using my social security number as my username was a bad idea!

The name of the user who created the post isn't hidden at all.
That is, the username isn't there in plain text, but it is as alternative text for the green button below the text "Thanked x Times in x Posts", so it shows the name on a mouseover of those buttons in most browsers.
So, there's no purpose in hiding the username at all...

Thanks for telling us that. What does it mean that somebody is "on a distinguished road?"

I think it's a status, as in, "has one or more posts" or something.

Oh, and next to that button and editting showing the username, so does quoting :P
